I thought it would be fun to have a blog for our group. One that all of us have the username and password so we can write in it whenever we want. There are a lot of ideas behind it, but the main idea is to encourage each other in Christ. I had a difficult situation the other day and asked a few of you to pray for me and the Lord really responded. I got really excited and wanted to share with everyone as well as document it so I can go back and look at how the Lord is working in my life. I thought it would be encouraging for you all to read my story, and hopefully if things happen to you where you know there was divine intervention, you will write in this blog as encouragement to us and something for us to always remember as it is documented.
Also, if you have any thoughts or responses to posts, or verses or prayers, I thought it would be a good idea to use this blog for that as well. For instance, the Lord really spoke to me through scripture the other day when I was dealing with a lot of temptation (I was really tempted to call and yell at Philip for a lot of things) and for some reason I ended up in Corinthians and came across 1 Corinthians 10:12-13. It basically states that if you think you are standing strong in your faith be careful not to fall. Yes, we are tempted, but we are not tempted more than our neighbor and when we are tempted God ALWAYS provides a way out. Reading that gave me a lot of peace.
But anyways, here is what happened the other day, which I wrote in my own private blog and just copied and pasted (to be specific January 7, 2010 around 7pm lol):
I had a rough day today. It was Philip's 25th birthday and I was upset with him as he was being selfish and is still irresponsible, and I had to go to FW with the baby for his bday dinner at a very crowded and loud buffalo wild wings. Not the best place for a baby, especially one who just got 3 shots in her legs. There were a few talks here and there which involved me finding out more lies about racy and provocative things, such as a maxim magazine he has. He decided to put it in a drawer instead of throwing it away bc he doesn't think it will harm Izzy if she were to ever find it. Nice. I got really frustrated. I sent a text to a few of you asking for prayers as I knew I was being tempted to cause a scene and have a fit about a few things - I could feel the frustration and anger building. Within 20 minutes I felt the Lord respond. I felt a peace and remembered some things. Here's what I remembered: God is outside of time. He can see the big picture and I can't. I am here now, in the present time and can only see what is here now. He is the ultimate provider. He has taken care of me up til now and will continue to do so. I fear too much. I was not trusting in Him. I cant change Philip. I can't be his savior.
Isn't that awesome? That was all the Lord's doing. I mean seriously how amazing is it that we have a God that loves us and that hears our prayers and responds to them? And some of you (most of you) don't realize how bitter I am about the Philip situation in general, so there is no way I felt at peace and remembered those things on my own. That was divine intervention baby!

I hope that was as encouraging to you all as it was to me and I can't wait to hear about the Lord working in your lives as well. I love you all! I'm excited about this!
LOVE, LAUREN :) :) :)
Lauren, I have a couple of things to say. First of all, you are amazing! Praise the Lord that all of us girls have you in our lives because you have started such an amazing thing! Gospel community right there... how could the body function without an arm? or a leg? (you can take your pick, what would you rather be? Perhaps a knee? haha) and I really think that this idea is AMAZING and that we will all benefit from it. I can't wait to read how the Lord is working in all of our lives and suspect that it will encourage us all! Praise him!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I am so happy to hear that God responded and you were able to rely on Him!! He is SO good!! That was really encouraging for me to read as I am working on relying on Him and putting all of my faith in Him!! Thank you for sharing as I know it will help me learn as well as the other girls!!
Thanks again for this! You rock!!
I love the encouragement found in this verse, "O LORD, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us,O LORD our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O LORD, you are our God; let not man prevail against you." ~ 2 Chronicles 14:11
ReplyDeleteLauren, only in His name were you able to struggle through Thursday night. How amazing is our LORD that He listened, loved, and provided for you. He is the only truth and hope we can rely on. Praise Him!
How awesome that we were able to share in Him revealing Himself to you! What a blessing, and I pray one of many we are undeservedly able to witness in the future!!!
